Reproductive Health: Girls to Women

As our center in South Africa, eKhaya eKasi, reaches its seventh birthday, we are
aware of the passage of time. Girls who entered the after-school program years ago
are approaching womanhood. In the AIDS capital of the world, we want to insure
that these young ladies have the knowledge to make safe, responsible decisions.

To address this critical need, Art Aids Art is launching a reproductive health
program. With your help, we can empower young women -- by caring for
themselves, leading by example, and sharing information -- to make their
  community healthier and safer.

2015: A Memorable Year in Pictures

  Record breaking.
  Rust to renovating.
  Reading, writing, and rump shaking.

2015 was a year to remember, and there's nothing like seeing it with your own eyes!

Here is the year in pictures.  Be sure to click on each photo for the brief
  description.

Recognizing World AIDS Day

Continuing to expand its leadership role in Khayelitsha, eKhaya eKasi Center hosted World
AIDS Day activities for the community.

The event included free HIV tests, educational presentations, and a performance by
  Ezakwantu Youth Group.

Through our partnerships with Doctors Without Borders, Mayenzeke Clinic, Soul City
Institute and Mamelani Project, over 100 guests of all ages attended.

Rooftop Garden Expanding!

eKhaya eKasi's "Green Roof" is exceeding our wildest expectations. With planter box
contributions from Uthando, growing space has doubled. A donation from overseas provided
new sturdy flooring to support the additional weight.

Last month, hosting 30 international guests for lunch, the kitchen team used exclusively
vegetables from upstairs. And local ladies who in the past did not care to "eat like goats" are
now enjoying delicious spinach and beets!

Special thanks to the eKhaya eKasi team for lovingly watering and weeding every day.
